I know that some people have questions about the rice cooker cup size that they need to buy. I guess the easy way is to know how many people do you need to serve using your rice cooker, then you can decide which cup size of rice cooker is best suit your needs.
Unless your family members have big stomach, usually, 3-cup rice cooker is good for 2-3 people in the family, and 5-cup rice cooker is good for 2-5 people, and lastly 10-cup rice cooker is great for 7-10 people:)
5.5-cup rice cooker is the most common in the market. If you found the rice cooker model that you liked, check out whether the cup size is right for your need. Most of the time, you can find 3-cup, 5.5-cup, 10-cup same model rice cooker available.

For me, this Zojirushi NS ZCC10 5.5 cup rice cooker is really the ultimate rice cooker machine!
What Make It The Best?
Well, this Zojirushi NS ZCC10 rice cooker have received top rating from cook illustrated, consumer report and more. It’s really the ultimate rice cooker machine with a lot of advance features and come with a higher price. Well in short, many experts have pick this as the best programmable fuzzy rice cooker in their overall rice cooker testing and reviews. And in my personal opinion, I think it is quite safe to say that you can’t go wrong by buying this rice cooker.
Anyway, this is not the main reason why I strongly recommend this best rice cooker. What I truly love about this rice cooker is you can cook whatever rice in it and still come out right each time. Either you are cooking with white rice, brown rice, black rice or making sushi, this Zojirushi NS ZCC10 rice cooker will automatically adjust it for cooking different kinds of rice and store your texture preference!!! This is really smart and powerful rice cooker machine. Even though sometime I forgot to put in enough water, but still the cooked rice comes out perfectly each time. This saves the day sometime. But of course, compares to other ordinary rice cooker, the trade off is longer cooking time for this advance technology.
My Personal Zojirushi NS ZCC10 Rice Cooker Review

Zojirushi NS ZCC10 Rice Cooker Review
For me, this rice cooker is pretty easy to use even though it comes with a lot more features in it. And it can cook up to 5.5 cup of raw rice that good enough to serve 3-4 people in the family. 5.5 cup rice cooker is pretty standard cup size for a rice cooker but if you are looking for a smaller rice cooker or rice cooker that can cook only for 1-2 people, you might want to check out this Zojirushi 3 cup size rice cooker. Anyway, my tip here is if you have guests to come over your place sometime, it’s better to get a bigger cup size rice cooker but you also want to make sure that you bigger cup size rice cooker can fit in your kitchen counter top:)
What Is The Bad Thing About This Rice Cooker?
One thing to note here is … this rice cooker don’t come with a streaming basket and the one I bought sometime ago comes with an incomplete instruction manual, but since I don’t use streaming basket or read any rice cooker manual, I guess I will give it a 5 star for this rice cooker review except it is a bit pricey compare to other rice cooker.
Zojirushi NS ZCC10 Rice Cooker Extra Feature
What is the extra feature? Well, you can read more about Zojirushi NS ZCC10 advance feature and product description at Amazon. The model has earns a lot of good Amazon review from Zojirushi owner, they love it and happy with Zojirushi NS ZCC10
. And I think I have say enough good think about this Zojirushi in my rice cooker review here. Well, check out the Zojirushi nano feature. This Neuro has just about every feature you could want, including fast-cook, re-warm and extended keep-warm settings … oop, I think I have give away the extra feature here:)
Anyway, Amazon have very good discount on this Zojirushi rice cooker (Amazon Link) item and I believe it’s the lowest price I ever see, don’t you just love to get the best deal online:)
Besides this model, there are many other Zojirushi rice cookers worth buying, such as the Zojirushi NS LAC05 Micom 3-cup Rice Cooker if you are looking for a small one, or the Zojirushi NS ZCC18 10-Cup Rice Cooker for bigger size.

Cooking rice has never been easier now with the Sanyo ECJ series. The Sanyo ECJ E35S rice cooker is the model you need if you think Sanyo ECJ D55S is a bit too big for you. This little rice cooker plus steamer cooks up to 3.5 cups – just enough for 2-4 persons.

Sanyo ECJ-E35S rice cooker review
Sanyo ECJ E35S rice cooker comes with the thickest non-stick inner pot of all the ECJ series, as thick as 5 mm. The inner pot will not move around when you scoop the rice as it is heavier than the Zojirushi, one reviewer pointed out.
Being the advanced micro-computerized rice cooker it is, the Sanyo ECJ E35S cooks perfect rice every time. Go on and try it with all kinds of rice like sushi, basmati, jasmine, brown, brown sushi; and other stuff such as porridge, baby food, risotto, oatmeal, cut Scottish oatmeal, wheat berry pilaf, and barley soup.
Sanyo rice cookers are widely known for their ease of cleaning. Most reviewers expressed their delight in finding that cleaning the Sanyo ECJ E35S rice cooker is a breeze. The titanium non-stick coating will prevent stubborn stains.
One inconvenient thing about this rice cooker is that it doesn’t come with a place to put the rice paddle, but I’ve found that soaking the rice paddle in a mug of water beside the rice cooker is just as well and will make cleaning it easier too. The timer also shows 00:00 instead of noon, so you’d have to get used to it.
For a rice cooker with advanced logic controls and as many functions as the Zojirushi models, Sanyo ECJ E35S is more reasonably priced, so I would willingly put up with the minor inconveniences. What do you think?

Sanyo ECJ D55S – Best Value Rice Cooker
After looking at so many rice cookers, I’m sticking my head to pick this new model of Sanyo ECJ D55S as the best value rice cooker!

Sanyo ECJ D55S 5.5 Cup Rice Cooker Review
Sanyo ECJ-D55S rice-cooker review
Fuzzy Logic Feature With Affordable Price
This easy to use rice cooker uses fuzzy logic technology to cook perfect rice every time, whether it is brown rice (short grain, long grain, basmati, rose and black), white rice (long grain, Jasmine, basmati, arborio and sushi), or whole grains (millet and quinoa). Plus, you can even make puddings, pilaf, porridge, oatmeal and cornmeal in it. So versatile!
I personally like to steam vegetables, fish or egg puddings together with my rice to save cooking time. Sanyo ECJ-D55S doubles as a steamer that can also be used to heat up left over food from an earlier meal. I’ll share a tip here: To avoid getting your rice looking veggie-colored or tasting like fish, cover up the dish with a thin plate when steaming on top of rice.
Extremely Easy To Use
A reviewer said that the Sanyo ECJ D55S rice cooker does a nice job of slow cooking. Making stew and soup is no problem then. The timer is awesome because finally you can prepare dinner in the morning and breakfast at night. Come home to ready-cooked rice! Another 69-year-old reviewer was pleasantly surprised that such a piece of advance technology is so easy to use.
What’s more, the Sanyo ECJ D55S is the easiest to clean ever ( compare to the Sanyo N55W model ). The rice never sticks to the pot. Remember to use only the plastic spatula and never metal or harsh cleaning tools on the titanium non-stick coating.
A few glitches for your information: The timer shows noon as 00:00pm, but that’s not a difficult thing to get used to. The condensation on the lid will run down the lid into a gap around the rice cooker (instead of into the pot or onto the countertop), and you’ll have to clean this part each time. This may be a little inconvenient for some, but not a very big problem either.
Best Rice Cooker With Affordable Price
For the price you’re paying for Sanyo ECJ D55S rice cooker, which is quite a tad lower compared to models with the same features from other brands, I think its advantages will overweigh the disadvantages greatly. I would strongly recommend this rice cooker anytime!
Further Information
A bigger size of the same version would be the Sanyo ECJ D100S 10-Cup Rice Cooker, and you can find many more Sanyo rice cooker reviews here.

If you like Sanyo rice cooker ECJ-D55S but need to serve more then 5 people in the family, then Sanyo ECJ-D100S Rice Cooker is just perfect for you. It’s have all the outstanding feature from Sanyo ECJ-D55S but just bigger, larger capacity rice for big family, large enough to serve 10 people in the family.
I haven’t use this rice cooker before, but in LA Time news, Judy Yao like the user-friendly feature and deliver tender rice with a hint of sweetness. And editor at cook illustrated give this sanyo rice cooker model a very high rating in their rice cooker reviews.
Personally, I love the smaller one model and I think it’s Sanyo rice cooker ECJ-D100S model shouldn’t be too bad either.
Sanyo Rice Cooker ECJ-D100S Review

Sanyo ECJ-D100S Rice Cooker - 10-Cup Rice Cooker
Well, base on more reading from rice cooker reviews on this model and research, this Sanyo rice cooker has a 24-hour programmable timer, steamer tray and slow cooking feature setting for soups. (Wow, better then my small Sanyo ECJ-D55S) that’s why it’s more costly for getting this bigger rice cooker too. Anyway, one thing to note here from the review is … it’s mention it’s cook perfect white, and sushi rice except you need to take more care in cooking brown rice. Hmm, I guess nothing is really that perfect.
Anyway, if I need bigger rice cooker, I wouldn’t hesitate to get this one – Sanyo Rice Cooker ECJ-D100S from Amazon.
Besides this model, I would recommend the best big rice cooker to be Zojirushi NS ZCC18. Unless you like to stick to Sanyo rice cookers, there are many 10-cup models to choose from. You can go to my Best Rice Cooker main page or my post on Best Rice Cookers – Sorted By Cup Size for more.
I got this Aroma Rice Cooker few years ago. So far it has been a great appliance and I have given away to my little brother since I really have too much rice cookers at my home.
But if you read my top pick rice cooker review recommendation, there are better rice cooker out there with different budget but this Aroma rice cooker is definitely worth the money.

aroma 8-cup rice cooker review
What I like About This Aroma 8-Cup Rice Cooker
Cook Right – This rice cooker cooks right every time except you need to be more careful with brown rice since it’s require more water in it.
My brother have told me that he love this rice cooker because even though he screw up sometime and do not use the right amount of water that is mention in the manual, but the cook rice has turn out pretty good.
Digital Touch Pad – The digital touch-pad is easy to use, especially with the timer. The one touch button cooking is a breeze! For this rice cooker, it does usually take about 30 minutes to cook.
Non-Stick Surface – This aroma 8 cup rice cooker come with a delightful non-stick surface that is more then easy to clean.
Steam Feature – The steam feature for other items works wonderful as well.
Sealed Top – I know many of the rice cooker come with sealed top now, but it’s definitely nice to know this rice cooker has a sealed. Some of you might feel better to know that this rice cooker is a sealted top when there are small children playing and running around the kitchen sometime.
Other
I have left rice in the device for over two hours after cooking and it is still moist, tasty and not burnt. But I have read that this aroma rice cooker does terribly when it’s have to keep warm more then 2-3 hours, personally I don’t really keep my rice cooker warm more then 2-3 hours but I do read that when you leave it more then 2-3 hours, it’s tends to get a little mush.
Rice Cooker Review
Well, Aroma has produce some of the outstanding commercial rice cooker that is able to cook more then 30 people but for this 8 cups rice cooker for price around $30, you definitely can’t ask for a better rice cooker.

Before I tell you about how Sanyo ECJ-N55 rice cooker performed in my entire rice cooker reviews and testing, I cook rice almost everyday, and what I’m looking for is a rice cooker that is easy to operate and extremely easy to clean. Well, Sanyo rice cooker perform extremely well in this two areas.
Cook Illustrated Rice Cooker Review
When I first pick up Sanyo Rice Cooker ECJ-N55, its have mention in couple places and received tremendous good review from cook illustrated. So I decided to give it a try here. Cook illustrated pick this as the best basic rice cookers ( Excellent performance at an affordable price ). In Cook’s Illustrated review and test, the Sanyo rice cooker ties with two Zojirushi rice cookers models for first place, but unlike Zojirushi, the Sanyo has a steamer basket and an easy-to-understand instruction manual.
My Sanyo ECJ-N55 Rice Cooker Review

Sanyo ECJ-N55 5.5-Cup Rice Cooker Review
So I got to personally test it out. As I expected, Sanyo rice cooker don’t have the advance feature such as setting and program the cooking time so that the rice will be ready as you come home (hmm, don’t you just love technology).
But if you want to cook white rice or brown rice perfectly with a press of button, this rice cooker will get the job done. The Sanyo rice cooker ECJ-N55 can cook up to 5 1/2 cups of raw rice that good enough to serve five people in the family.
I’m not surprise its cook the rice perfectly but I’m more impress with how easy to clean this rice cooker up. Plus it’s extremely portable to store and move around. After this rice cooker review, I have bought couple of Sanyo ECJ-N55 as a gift for my good friends, they just love it.
Currently at this writing, amazon have good discount on this Sanyo ECJ-N55 (Amazon), check it out then.
This is only one of the many Sanyo rice cookers that I have to recommend. If you are looking for a fuzzy logic rice cooker, I would point you to the Best Fuzzy Logic Rice Cooker.

This rice cooker is so cute! If anyone needed a rice cooker that is so tiny it can be brought anywhere, the Black & Decker RC3303 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker will do.

Black & Decker RC3303 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker
Actually A 1.5-cup Rice Cooker
Although it says on the description that this is a 3-cup rice cooker, in fact it really makes 3 cups of cooked rice instead of uncooked rice. So in reality, this is a 1.5-cup rice cooker. It is very small and looks like a toy!
Don’t be fooled by appearances though, the Black & Decker RC3303 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker can cook rice. It can cook enough for one or two persons if they eat normally.
Take it Wherever You Go
I think this rice cooker is just nice to bring with you while traveling. This reminds me of the time when I went to China, and the weather just didn’t agree with me, so I had to stay in the hotel for several days. The hotel food bored me after a while, and that was the time when I wished I had a rice cooker with me.
The Black & Decker RC3303 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker has a non stick bowl so it’s very easy to wash after cooking, even if it does brown the rice a little at the bottom sometimes. The remedy for this is to stir up the rice when it has absorbed all the water, and switch the rice cooker to keep warm earlier instead of waiting for it to click.
Most of the reviewers who rated this less than 3 stars had mistaken it for a bigger rice cooker and was disappointed that it was so small. The correct dimensions are there in the description, and they are: 7.5 x 7.5 x 6.6 inches.
So beware! The Black & Decker RC3303 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker is a mini rice cooker! Only buy this rice cooker if you think the size is right for you.
If you like this mini rice cooker, maybe you’ll like these too:
